Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Parsley Sword processes personal data when you visit parsleysword.com, read the blog, subscribe to the newsletter or contact us by email. Parsley Sword is based in Switzerland and this Policy is intended to provide transparent information under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data processed when you visit the website
The website is hosted by METANET AG, Josefstrasse 218, 8005 Zurich, Switzerland. When you access the website, technical information is transmitted automatically to the web server. Depending on the server configuration, this may include your IP address, date and time of access, the page or file requested, the referring page, browser and device information, operating system and server response information.
These data are processed to deliver the website, maintain its stability and security, detect misuse and technical problems, and protect the website and infrastructure. We do not use server log data to create advertising or behavioural profiles. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Technical log data are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, system operation and any applicable legal obligations, and are then deleted or overwritten in accordance with the relevant retention settings.
2. Blog
The Parsley Sword blog is read-only. We do not offer public comments or user accounts. You can read blog posts without providing your name, email address or other information directly to us. Only the technical data described in Section 1 are processed when pages are accessed.
3. Newsletter
If you subscribe to the Parsley Sword newsletter, we process your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your first name. The newsletter signup and delivery are managed through Flodesk, Inc., 2093 Philadelphia Pike #3380, Claymont, Delaware 19703, USA (“Flodesk”), which acts as a service provider and processor on our behalf for subscriber data.
Flodesk also records information needed to manage and document newsletter signups, such as the date and time of signup, IP address, signup source or form, consent and confirmation status, and technical information needed to display, secure and operate the form. Flodesk provides form-level statistics such as unique visitors, opt-ins and conversion rates. We do not combine these form statistics with a general profile of your browsing behaviour on the Parsley Sword website.
We use a double opt-in process: after signing up, you are asked to confirm your email address before you are added to the active mailing list. We use your newsletter data to send the newsletter, manage your subscription and document your consent. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
You can withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal. After you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the active mailing list. A limited suppression or consent record may be retained where necessary to respect your unsubscribe request, prevent further mailings and demonstrate compliance.
Flodesk may process subscriber and technical data in the United States and other countries outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area. Flodesk’s Data Processing Addendum provides for safeguards for international transfers, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with adaptations for Swiss data protection law and other transfer mechanisms recognised under applicable law.
4. Cookies, analytics and tracking
Parsley Sword does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising pixels or similar general website analytics or cross-site advertising trackers. We do not intentionally set non-essential cookies for advertising or behavioural profiling.
When you open or use a Flodesk newsletter form, Flodesk may process technical identifiers and device or browser information as part of operating, securing and measuring the form as described in Section 3. No Google Analytics or Meta Pixel is enabled by Parsley Sword in connection with the newsletter form.
If we introduce non-essential cookies, analytics or advertising technologies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required by law, request consent before those technologies are activated.
5. Contact by email
There is no contact form on the website. If you contact us directly by email, we process the information you send to us, including your email address, message content and associated communication data, in order to respond to your request and manage the correspondence.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message relates to steps before entering into a contract or to an existing contractual relationship, and otherwise our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and communicating with you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Correspondence is retained only for as long as needed for the relevant purpose and any applicable legal or business record-keeping obligations.
6. Service providers and recipients
We use service providers only to the extent necessary to operate the website and newsletter. The main providers for the current website setup are METANET AG for web hosting and Flodesk, Inc. for newsletter signup and delivery. These providers process data within the scope of their services and contractual obligations. We may also disclose personal data if required by law, a competent authority or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
7. How long we keep personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to comply with applicable legal obligations, to resolve disputes or to protect legitimate interests. In particular:
• Website server logs are retained according to security and operational needs and are deleted or overwritten when no longer required.
• Newsletter subscription data are kept while you remain subscribed; limited consent or suppression records may be retained after unsubscribing where necessary.
• Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the communication and any applicable legal or business record-keeping requirements.
8. Data security
We and our service providers use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Your rights
Depending on the law applicable to you and the circumstances, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to certain processing. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time for the future.
To exercise your rights, contact us using the email address in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may also have the right to contact the competent data protection authority. In Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If the GDPR applies to your data, you may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in the European Economic Area.
We do not use personal data collected through this website for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
10. Links to Instagram and other third-party websites
The website may contain a link to the Parsley Sword Instagram profile. This is intended as a standard external link and not as an embedded Instagram feed, social media plugin or Meta Pixel. Merely displaying the link on the Parsley Sword website does not intentionally transmit personal data to Instagram.
If you choose to click the Instagram link, you leave the Parsley Sword website. Instagram and Meta may then process personal data in accordance with their own privacy terms and settings. Parsley Sword does not control that processing. The same principle applies to other external third-party links that may appear in blog posts or elsewhere on the website.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the website, our service providers, our data processing activities or legal requirements change. The current version and its last-updated date will be published on this website.
